You are invited to join with Bedford Pipe Band for their Remembrance Service for all service personnel, and especially to commemorate the young men of the Highland regiments who died in Bedford from a measles epidemic whilst under training, and awaiting departure for the Front. The pipers will be present, together with representatives of the Services.
Meet at the Chapel from 10.am. The Parade is planned to form up around 10.15 a.m. and the two minute silence will be at the Cross of Sacrifice at 11.00 a.m.
The parade will take place out of doors and all attending should be adequately clothed. The cemetery ground is uneven so please wear appropriate shoes. Please do not lean on the memorials in the cemetery.
Parking at the Chapel will be restricted to invited guests who are in receipt of a car pass. All others should park in the car park in Foster Hill Road.
Please email info@fosterhillroadcemetery.co.uk if you have restricted mobility and are unable to walk up to the Chapel.
