By a happy coincidence, our Heritage Weekend Sunday guided walk coincides with another local heritage initiative, the Bedfordshire Walking Festival, so this new walk combines the two.
We’ve recently produced a new leaflet highlighting the wonderful variety of trees in the Cemetery. To tie in with this, Jo Roberts from the Forest of Marston Vale will be leading a walk, based on our new leaflet, looking at the natural history of some of the hundreds of beautiful trees in the cemetery along with the folklore and other interesting information associated with them.
As an alternative to the tree walk there will be opportunities to have short guided “taster walks” to visit some of the interesting memorials in the cemetery
All walks are free but a small contribution to the Friends would be appreciated. The walks last approximately 1.5 hours.
Meet at the Chapel 10 mins before the start of the walk
Tea and home make cakes will be provided at the end of the walks for a small charge.
Please note: The cemetery ground is uneven so please wear appropriate shoes.
When viewing memorials, please do not lean on them.
