In September 2026 we launched eleven new interpretation panels designed to bring the cemetery’s history to life and encourage more people to appreciate, explore and enjoy this fascinating space.

We are incredibly grateful to our exhibition sponsors the Gale Family Trust, Bedford Architectural, Archaeological and Local History Society (BAALHS) and the Friends of Bedford Cemetery (Foster Hill Road) for financially supporting this project. Many thanks also to the Panacea Museum, The Higgins, Bedfordshire Archives, Richard Galley, Ruth Hogan, Dexter Ferguson and Chiew Loo for all their support with research material, photography and resources.
