Foster Hill Road Cemetery Event Details

The Friends of Foster Hill Road Cemetery host a number of themed talks during the year, which are open to the public and always prove very popular.  The Cemetery records are available at the Chapel during the Heritage Weekend in September and an annual carol concert is held near Christmas.  Other events are held to mark special occasions.

Members of the Friends lead several guided walks during the summer months. Each walk is themed and covers topics such as the Cemetery’s spectacular graves, its history, its wildlife, tales of those buried there and more.  Walks are also included during the Heritage weekend.  The walks last approximately 1.5 hours and the pace is gentle.  However, the cemetery grounds are uneven so a pair of stout walking shoes is recommended.

We are also happy to arrange bespoke walks for interested groups, please contact us for details.

The times and dates of our events vary, so please see our events calendar for more details.

A Celebration of Animals at Christmas

Join us this Christmas for a very special and wonderfully ‘alternative’ Christmas concert, as we welcome Ruth Hogan back to our beautiful Chapel.

This year, Ruth’s theme is animals at Christmas. Some will be the familiar fluffy and adorable kind, while others may be rather less cuddly! Expect a heart-warming and entertaining celebration, with plenty of opportunities to join in with much-loved carols and Christmas songs.

The Chapel will be dressed in all its Christmas finery, creating a wonderfully festive setting for an afternoon of music, laughter and seasonal cheer.

Adding an extra boost to the singing, members of local community choirs, led by Evelyn Sutherland, will be joining us to help fill the Chapel with Christmas spirit.

Afterwards, you are warmly invited to stay and enjoy cake and mulled wine and continue the festive celebrations with friends.

Our collection this year will be in aid of Greenacres Rescue, an all-animal rescue centre based in beautiful Pembrokeshire. The charity is particularly close to Ruth’s heart.

Although based in Pembrokeshire, Greenacres Rescue’s work extends across the UK. The centre is dedicated to helping animals in need, giving as many as possible the chance of a better and brighter future.

So come along, raise your voices, enjoy some festive fun and help us celebrate the animals who bring so much joy to our lives.

We look forward to welcoming you for a very special Christmas celebration!
